At Precision Thermal Processing we offer blasting consistent with the products we heat treat. This includes both tumble and belt blasting as described in fuller detail below.
Cosmetic Blasting – Belt Blast
This is specialized cleaning where parts are hand loaded onto a mesh belt for transport through a blasting process. Then parts are hand-packed for return shipment to the customer. This process uses a less aggressive blast media to remove minor surface contaminants in order to improve cosmetic appearance.
Typica parts include:
- Post Heat Treated Components
This is our standard cleaning process where parts are bulk loaded into blast cleaning equipment and then tumbled to remove scale and rust from the heat treated part. Our blast equipment can quickly and efficiently clean parts up to 100 lbs.
Typical parts include:
- Rough Machined Components
Our blast equipment can accommodate parts up to 24 inches in width, 18 inches in height and 100 pounds. At Precision Thermal Processing it is important to us that our customers are satisfied by both the performance and the look of the parts they receive from us. Our experienced technicians ensure that we can meet our customers' requirements.
MORE THERMAL PROCESSES
The Normalize process provides a uniform, fine-grained structure and avoids excess softening in ferrous alloys.
Induction hardening is a selective surface hardening process in which a metal part is induction-heated in an energy field (coil) and then quenched to achieve its required properties. This process allows for selective hardening of the component in chosen areas without affecting the part as a whole.
